“Sharing is caring,” or something along those lines that I was once told. Also, I tend to babble, which is not to be confused with my possibly masquerading as a Babel Fish–that’s something else entirely.
No, more seriously, this will be a space for me to share about what I’m working on, what I’m reading, and what I’m seeing as an editor/tutor (i.e. grammar bits, but don’t worry, I won’t do those too often). Having found many solid book rec’s by way of other authors’ mentions, I feel it’s great to lift up colleagues for their stellar works. We have a glut of great stories to read, so let’s get to it!
When Imposter Syndrome Strikes
Many of us, even after our first books debuted, and debuted well, still find ourselves looking behind us with this bewildered ‘who me?’ moment. I think part of this is baked into some authors’ personal pasts and journeys; however, it seems that trying for trad pub can engender this state. Heck, the indie pub world with its flooded marketplace can bring on the self-doubting, inner meanie voice.
